The Empire of Nerath has lasted for nearly a thousand years, quite an accomplishment for an empire founded by short-lived humans. Scholars have attributed this longevity to the way the Empire has drawn together the wise and good of many other races, forming a truly multiracial unity that works to protect its citizens and create better lives for all who inhabit its borders.

Imperial History stretches back before the founding of the Empire, and runs up until the Ruler of Ruin led his mad army of gnolls down out of the Howling Forest, sweeping over the civilized lands.
