Nerath Province
Nerath Province was once the Kingdom of Nerath, the core around which the Empire of Nerath has grown. Early need for resources led the kingdom into an attitude of expansionism, seeking the fertile farmland of nearby Irdath, and the fishing and trading wealth of Turanni to the south. While some of the early acquisitions were through conquest, the later years of Imperial expansion were the result of clever trade agreements, favourable negotiations, and a commitment to defending members of the expanding Empire. Nerath Province is the heart of the Empire, considered to be the centre of arts, learning, and culture. Inhabitants of Nerath tend to view the other provinces as somewhat rural and unsophisticated.
